Beyoncé surprised everyone, once again, when she dropped her brand new single “Formation” on Saturday, February 6 — and the Beyhive was not disappointed!
Fans and a handful of celebs went crazy on social media as they watched the music video for the new track (which features a cameo from Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy).
In addition to praising the video that was shot in New Orleans, they commented on the racy lyrics — at one point Beyoncé, 35, raps, “When he f—k me good, I take him to Red Lobster.”
The most intriguing tweets of them all might just be those of Yahoo! journalist Shehnaz Khan, who wrote, “If you don’t have Tidal you’ll regret it I’m just saying,” hours before the song dropped. After “Formation” was released on Tidal, she wrote, “Don’t say I never warned you,” shortly before adding, “One more thing… THERE IS MORE… I hope you have all SAVED YOUR COINS.”
